This is kind of a lie. I haven't been doing this long enough to get any questions frequently.
My house in Anchorage had grass in the front, on the side, and in the back, and I mowed it all the same way. I've never cared much about grass or lawns so I mostly just left it alone.
So, since I didn't do anything special, it all grew very differently. It wanted to be dendelions in the back, moss on the side, and clover in the front. I tried a little harder with the dandelions and really let the rest go. The moss was super low-maintenance and almost didn't need mowing anymore, and the clover was really nice to look at.
Anchorage is really a bit of a rainforest when it's not frozen, so it felt appropriate to let the yard grow whatever came naturally to it.
Mostly because I hated it. There were so many things I wanted to do to make help people work smarter, not harder. There's so much more I could've done to support Member Service activities.
Competing priorities, adversarial 'partners', and shitty egos got in the way too much for me. A stable IT Salary isn't enough to buy my soul so people can destroy it.
Coaching has been an opportunity to take full advantage of my strengths and values in ways I can't in a corporate environment. It's all about listening, thought-partnering, and encouraging people to do what it takes to thrive.
Life is too short to be so unhappy all the time. I believe my happiness relies on living our truth and being of service to others. We all could use more happiness in our lives.
My college education included a lot of Leadership programming, and I was groomed for leadership most of my career. Lots of things got in the way, especially shitty egos and problems we weren't allowed to solve. I've been in a lot of toxic work environments.
I wanted to be a catalyst for an environment where people can think creatively, do their best work, get along peacefully, and finally thrive. I've never worked anywhere this is allowed by all stakeholders.
Good Question? How much time do you have?
I love puzzles! I enjoy looking for patterns and bringing the pieces together, whether it's a picture or a problem or whatever.
My top two values are Understanding and Doing right by others. If we could all understand one another and cooperate, the world would be a much better place!
My top 5 Clifton Strengths are Restorative, Individualization, Responsibility, Relator, and Input. These work well together to help me see where things may be going wrong, see the similarities and differences between people and things and situations, and want badly to make things better.
